Yohji Yamamoto Y's for Men
Undated and Uncredited this one's a bit of a mystery. Published in Tokyo, huge and beautiful, featuring very classic Yamamoto fare, with men, women and old people modelling. Nice.

One of the best of the M/M period. Paolo Roversi on top form shooting Kirsten Owen. M/M photocopy, distort, bleach and rearrange on numerous papers, sizes and colours. A triumph of art direction.
Yohji Yamamoto F/W 1998-1999
Right- no ordinary look book here, Inez and Vinoodh shoot, Maggie Rizer models, and M/M art direct. Very surreal props, framing, lighting and connotations of witchcraft vie for equal attention with the clothes, which of course are super.
Yohji Yamamoto S/S 2001
Great as always Yamamoto featuring Erika Wall. Production is insane. Basically like a giant notepad, the design is structural, so the photography is pretty untampered with compared to most M/M collaborations, and shows some of McDean's better work.

Killer Yamamoto featuring Amber Valetta (amazing) tons of archival prints and crazy M/M work set over a series of 5 gigantic foldouts. Tip!

Very well produced book published to celebrate 10 years of Raf Simons. Raf Simons - The Fourth Sex
Really great and hugely exhaustive tome on teenagers, or 'The Fourth Sex'. Superb Contributions from a huge number of guests (Dead or Alive) including Cocteau, Lynch, Nabokov, J.G. Ballard, David Bowie, Larry Clark, Rudi Gernreich, Bernhard Willhelm etc. Chocked with so many superb images collected by Simons and Bonami. Rather like a huge visual research project, and very Simons-y. Texts are also notably good. A great book.
Alaia - Azzedine Alaia
Really stunning. The best fashion book of the 90's. Huge, beatifully produced with lots of amazing full bleed photographs. Contributions from Helmut Newton, Ellen Von Unwerth, Patrick Demarchelier, Paolo Roversi, Jean Paul Goude, Peter Lindbergh, Steven Meisel, Bruce Weber and William Klein amongst others from 1982-1992. Also featuring a huge cast of excellent Models, Film Stars, Musicians. Lots of large fold outs, gold/silver paperstock, a few sketches, influences etc. One of the most beautiful fashion books that exist.
